ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR!
Romance books are in the air, and not just because we are heading into our Valentine’s Day month of February! This has been a publishing phenomenon for decades. And it isn’t ending anytime soon!

In a special International Holocaust Remembrance Day program January 29th, Gramercy Books will host noted historians and Holocaust experts Dr. Elizabeth “Barry” White and Dr. Joanna Sliwa. Their collaboration, The Counterfeit Countess, tells the astonishing story of mathematician Dr. Josephine Janina Mehlberg, aka Countess Janina Suchodolska, a Jewish woman who rescued more than 10,000 Poles imprisoned by Poland’s Nazi occupiers.
One of our greatest joys is giving back to our community. We're proud to partner with Franklin County Children Services to provide books to children in need each year through our Book Angels program. We are grateful that Gramercy Books is such an integral part of our community. We appreciate you and wish you a happy holiday!
“Grand merci” translates to “big thanks.” So, you see, gratitude brings the meaning to our name. Yet, it’s so easy to neglect gratitude when the world seems broken. Nearly 1,000 people recently stood in line for up to six hours (starting at 5 am) to meet horror writer R.L. Stine in his hometown of Bexley, Ohio. Stine came to Central Ohio, hosted by Gramercy Books, as part of a book tour for his four latest scary books.

The month of May, Jewish Heritage Month, is a deeply personal celebration for me as a first-generation American Jew. The designation, established in 2006 by Congressional resolution and Presidential proclamation, commemorated May as a national month of recognition of the history of Jewish contributions to American culture, acknowledging the diverse achievement of the Jewish community in the U.S.
Spring at Gramercy Books means we begin to see more people in the store, emerging from the winter and eager to make new connections, to discover through books. And when all of us think of spring, we think of a time of rejuvenation, reinvention, and rebirth.
Gratitude is always on our minds at Gramercy Books, not just on Thanksgiving. Our name is taken from the French, “Grand Merci,” translating to “Many Thanks!”
Gramercy Books has established an author event rhythm, hosting one every week so readers can hear writers talk about their new books. The October author event schedule is a great example of the diverse mix of selected authors and books, and the multitude of ways to present these authors to the community.
