ROMANCE IS IN THE AIR!

When we approach Valentine’s Day at Gramercy Books, we tend to get in the romantic mood. For someone like me, an author and bookseller, I am noticing that there are a lot of people drawn to romance novels, and not just in February!

INSPIRATION!

Merriam Webster’s definition for inspiration is as follows: “the action or power of moving intellect or emotions.” That describes what happens inside the walls of an independent bookstore each and every day. It also describes what we mean at Gramercy Books when we say: “find inspiration here.”

SHELF TALKERS: FIND IT HERE

Now entering our second year, Gramercy Books’ “find it here” mantra couldn’t be more appropriate. While we carry bestsellers and all the recent releases, we also focus on curating inventory that allow customers to discover both emerging authors and unexpected titles. Our shelf talkers, written by a knowledgeable staff—all passionate about books—help customers “find it here.”

KAZUO ISHIGURO: AN EMOTIONAL FORCE

As a young boy, Kazuo Ishiguro uncovered Sherlock Holmes stories in the local library. His subsequent writing journey has been nothing short of adventurous––revealing extraordinary range, playing with genres like detective fiction (When We Were Orphans), science fiction (Never Let Me Go) and fantasy (The Buried Giant) and tackling big themes like the fallibility of memory, mortality, war and love.
