Join screenwriter, producer and author Andy Rose for the launch of his book, The Aspiring Screenwriter’s Dirty Lowdown Guide to Fame and Fortune, a humorous and pithy guide to the craft of writing a screenplay and the business of being a screenwriter. Rose has walked this path, having years of experience with every major film studio and network, and working with the best, including Tom Hanks, Ron Howard, David Geffen, and Jeff Katzenberg. Andy will be interviewed by Kevin Rouch, Director of The Drexel Theater, Gramercy’s community partner for this event.
Having written and/or produced dozens of successful screenplays including feature films McHale’s Navy and Splash Too; the TV movie Richest Cat in the World; and TV shows Life With Louie and UC: Undercover, Andy Rose knows the business. His book debunks the big screen and teaches readers how to write a blockbuster screenplay and equally important, how to sell it. The Aspiring Screenwriter’s Dirty Lowdown Guide is filled with real life examples, including contracts, screenplays, treatments, press, and more.
Andy Rose teaches both intermediate and advanced screenwriting at The Ohio State University. A Writers Guild of America member, he has also written numerous articles for MovieMaker Magazine, a national publication on independent filmmaking.
