Award-winning poet Jacquelin Smith will read from both past and recent work. She will share a writing exercise that opens the creative flow for writing fresh poetry. Participants will write about a memory and then a dream or fantasy, moving back and forth from one to another in this creative exercise.
Jacquelin Smith holds a degree in art and has taught classes on writing and creativity at Columbus Cultural Arts Center as well as at various art centers and bookstores in the community. Her chapbook, My G-Rated Life, won the Chiron Review Chapbook Contest in 1999. Her work has been published in various magazines including Pearl, Poetry Motel, Slipstream, The Ohio Writer and Urban Spaghetti.
