Join local poetry troupe, Concrete Wink: Poetry with a Hefty Trowel of Attitude, featuring Sandy Feen, Chuck Salmons, and Rikki Santer, who will tantalize you with their poems of things that go bump in the night and other weird phenomena.
Sandra is a longtime teacher of poetry and creative writing and one of twelve teachers nationally who was selected for a National Endowment of the Arts first “Change Course” program through Wright State University’s Institute on Writing and Its Teaching. A former director of the Ohio Poetry Therapy Association, Sandy has facilitated poetry therapy workshops in a variety of health care facilities and creative arts programs. A featured reader in venues throughout Ohio for over 30 years, Sandy’s poems have appeared in several anthologies, including Poetry Motel, Elastic Ekphrasis, and Cap City Poets.
Native Columbus resident Chuck Salmons is currently President of the Ohio Poetry Association. His poems have appeared in several journals and anthologies including Pudding Magazine, Evening Street Review, and Common Threads among others. Chuck won the 2011 William Redding Memorial Poetry Contest, sponsored by The Poetry Forum of Columbus, and regularly gives readings throughout Ohio. He loves science, which often influences his poems.
Rikki Santer’s work has won honors from The Poetry Forum, Black Lawrence Press, the Ohio Poetry Association, and the Best of Ohio Writer Contest sponsored by the Poets’ & Writers’ League of Greater Cleveland. She was a 2016 Pushcart nominee, an Ohioana Book Award nominee, and a recipient of a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
