Poetry Night with Rose Smith

Thursday, April 2, 2020 - 7:00pm
Gramercy Books
2424 East Main Street
Bexley, OH 43209

Join acclaimed poet Rose Smith for a reading from her recent collection Unearthing Idawinner of the Lyrebird Prize from Glass Lyre Press. Unearthing Ida is a story of a complicated life—and a complicated family—told in poems so visceral and tender, they sting. Rose M. Smith has one of finest ears in poetry, and in this new book, different speakers reveal pieces of Ida's story, with different perspectives, voices, rhythms, and dictions.

Rose M. Smith‘s work appears in Minola Review, Mom Egg Review, pluck!, Naugatuck River Review, Snapdragon, Main Street Rag, The Pedestal Magazine, and other journals and anthologies. She is the author of four chapbooks, most recently Holes in My Teeth (Kattywampus Press, 2016). She is a Senior Editor with Pudding Magazine, is a graduate Cave Canem fellow, and has served with Ohio Arts Council’s Poetry Out Loud program for several years.

Ohio Poetry Association is Gramercy’s partner for this program.
