In A Green Line Between Green Fields, Steve Abbott follows recognizable characters as they explore the border regions between who we are and what we aren’t, between benign intent and ambivalent fulfillment, between nurturing love and consummate evil, between awakening in the dark and coming to terms with the light. Blending an individual life with stories and snapshots of multiple lives, the poems in Abbott’s collection offer a window onto the whirlwind of an all-too-human world.
Steve Abbott was a founding member in 1984 of The Poetry Forum, Ohio’s longest-running poetry series. His poems have appeared in dozens of literary journals and multiple anthologies, and he has edited two poetry anthologies and published five chapbooks of poems, most recently Kicking Mileposts in the Video Age. He edits Ohio Poetry Association’s annual member journal Common Threads and represented OPA on the committee that selected Ohio’s first Poet Laureate.
